The 2011 Chardonnay hails primarily from Rancho Sarco Vineyard in Napa’s southern Coombsville region AVA as well as a small blast of Chard from Star Vineyard in Rutherford. It displays a light straw color with aromas of pear, hazelnut and lemon zest. A touch of honey and light barrel caramels accent flavors of lemon custard, pineapple, granny smith apple and wet stone. This wine was fermented using native yeast to promote an exotic flavor and aromatic profile. Given 2011 was a cooler vintage we allowed for 40% malolactic fermentation to flesh the wine out.
