There is sediment from aging, so decanting or letting settle before pouring is a good idea. Visually the wine is a youthful concentrated ruby color. In the nose: Initially a blend of fresh herbs and ripe red cherry and plum with notes of wheat toast, graphite and cocoa powder. The palate is sophisticated and evolves from red fruit well integrated with some barbequed beef, cocoa powder and hints of jalapeno and fresh mint.
