Our bottling focused on ancient vines at Lodi’s Nicolini Ranch, planted in 1936, is as fresh and deeply luxurious as a dozen newly-cut roses with a bowl of earthy blackberries in a pleasing dry style. The wine is surprisingly full-bodied with silky smooth tannins that combine with those rich roses and blackberries for a beautifully balanced wine. The underlying freshness even suggests faint peppermint with a quick twist of black pepper. The richness expresses a bit like chocolate ganache before morphing into slightly dusty, oaky, sun-dried tomato that makes a home in your mouth - the finish is so nice and lasting.
